Nederlandse genomineerd voor de World Photography Award

Vier fotografen uit Nederland zijn genomineerd voor een 2016 Sony World Photography Award. Deze award wordt sinds 2007 uitgereikt. In de professionele competitie zijn Yvonne Brandwijk, Simone da Lima en Mariëlle van Uitert genomineerd. Yvonne Brandwijk doet het in de categorie ‘Candid’. Van Uitert in de categorie ‘contemporary issues’ en Da Lima in de categorie ‘still life’.

For this project journalist Stephanie Bakker and photographer Yvonne Brandwijk discover the next generation of cities. Kinshasa’s first launch and print date was on July 15 2015 at the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant.

Van Son

Max van Son is genomineerd in de open competitie in de categorie ‘architecture’.  Dit jaar mocht de organisatie rekenen op een recordaantal inzendingen. 230.103 duizend uit 186 landen. De awards worden per categorie uitgereikt op 21 april tijdens een gala ceremonie in Londen. De overall winnaar mag zich Fotograaf van het Jaar noemen, en wint de nieuwste digitale Sony-apparatuur en een geldprijs van 30.000 dollar. De foto’s van alle genomineerden worden opgenomen in een expositie die in april en mei in Londen te zien zal zijn.
