Epic Games heeft opnieuw een mededingingsrechtszaak aangespannen tegen Google en heeft daarbij ook Samsung in het vizier, de grootste fabrikant van Android-telefoons wereldwijd. De ontwikkelaar van Fortnite beweert dat Samsung opzettelijk apps blokkeert die niet afkomstig zijn uit de Google Play Store. Dit zou een poging zijn om te voorkomen dat Epic zijn eigen app-winkel op Android-apparaten kan uitrollen.<\/strong><\/p>\n In een eerdere rechtszaak, die Epic in 2022 in de Verenigde Staten won, werd Google veroordeeld vanwege oneerlijke voorwaarden in de Play Store. Sindsdien heeft Epic zijn eigen winkel gelanceerd voor Android-apparaten. Het bedrijf beweert nu dat Samsung na deze rechtszaak een automatische blokkering (Auto Blocker) heeft ingesteld voor apps die niet uit de Google Play Store of de Galaxy Store komen, wat de standaardinstelling is geworden op Samsung-smartphones.<\/p>\n Hierdoor moeten gebruikers van Samsung-telefoons een reeks handelingen doorlopen in hun instellingen om deze blokkering uit te schakelen voordat ze apps kunnen downloaden van externe bronnen, zoals Epic’s eigen storefront.
