De Europese Commissie is nu verantwoordelijk voor het omzetten van dit voorstel in een wetsvoorstel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Het voorstel, getiteld &#8216;Verslavend Ontwerp van Online Diensten&#8217;, richt zich op verslavende apps en manipulatieve algoritmes. Het is ingediend door Kim van Sparrentak, een Europarlementari\u00ebr van GroenLinks, die deze ontwikkeling als een &#8220;mijlpaal&#8221; beschouwt.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/meps\/nl\/197870\/KIM_VAN+SPARRENTAK\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Van Sparrentak<\/a> benadrukt dat de tactieken van grote techbedrijven een impact hebben op zowel de mentale gezondheid van gebruikers als op de hersenontwikkeling van jonge generaties.<\/p>\n<p>In het voorstel wordt onder andere gepleit voor een verbod op de meest verslavende ontwerpfuncties binnen de apps, zoals automatisch afspelen van video&#8217;s en eindeloos scrollen. Ook moet er actie worden ondernomen tegen verslavende algoritmes op sociale media, en apps dienen na dertig minuten gebruik een waarschuwing te geven. Van Sparrentak wil ook dat gebruikers het recht hebben om niet gestoord te worden, waarbij notificaties en andere aandachttrekkende functies standaard zijn uitgeschakeld op smartphones.\u00a0Daarnaast streeft het Parlement naar toegang tot de dashboards van grote techbedrijven waar nieuwe ontwerpfuncties worden getest, om transparantie te waarborgen.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Van Sparrentak benadrukt de ernst van smartphoneverslaving, waarbij volgens sommige rapporten \u00e9\u00e9n op de vier jongeren symptomen vertoont.
