Google gaat het kindvriendelijke videoplatform YouTube Kids in 2019 ook in Nederland lancering.\u00a0 YouTube Kids werd in 2015 al uitgebracht voor de Amerikaanse markt en wordt sindsdien in steeds meer landen uitgerold.\u00a0 YouTube Kids wordt kritisch bekeken, zoals door Commonsensemedia.com<\/a>, met betrekking tot het echt kindvriendelijk zijn:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Parents need to know that YouTube Kids\u00a0<\/em>is a kid-targeted portal\u00a0to\u00a0YouTube<\/a>\u00a0aimed at preschoolers to tweens that features curated, ad-supported TV shows, music, educational videos, and user-created content. It’s worth noting that since there are regular updates, the channels and videos are always subject to change.\u00a0The app continues to draw lots of public scrutiny and\u00a0controversy<\/a>\u00a0for including some clearly inappropriate videos and ads (with\u00a0nudity, alcohol, and profanity), as well as fast food\u00a0and junk food ads that push unhealthy food (some of which look a lot more like entertainment than advertising, making it hard for kids to know they’re being marketed to). If parents sign up for a\u00a0YouTube Red<\/a>\u00a0subscription, there are no ads, and kids can watch offline. Families can also access it\u00a0via television<\/a>, depending on their device.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Videoplatform<\/h2>\n

YouTube Kids is een video platform waarop enkel content wordt aangeboden die geschikt is voor kinderen. Daarbij beschikt het platform over uitgebreide mogelijkheden voor ouderlijk toezicht. Zo kunnen tijdslimieten ingesteld worden en kunnen ouders toegang tot bepaalde YouTube kanalen ontzeggen. Ook is het mogelijk om de zoekfunctie te deactiveren, waarmee kinderen alleen kunnen kijken naar de content die door YouTube kids wordt voorgeschoteld.<\/p>\n

Lancering<\/h2>\n

Bij de lancering van YouTube kids in Nederland wordt er binnen Google een team opgezet die specifiek Nederlandse content gaat beoordelen, ondersteund door algoritmes van Google die inhoud van video’s kan analyseren.
