Steeds meer livestream, een harde verbinding met G+ en Gmail, maar Google wil van platform YouTube\u00a0een social media netwerk maken. Opvallend is tevens de ontwikkeling van Daydream, een VR platform<\/span><\/a> dat net als de sociale functies van Backstage, ook eind 2016 live moeten gaan. Blog Venturebeat zegt:<\/div>\n

Amid competition<\/a> from Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter, YouTube is developing a feature internally called Backstage where users can share photos, polls, links, text posts, and videos with their subscribers. Backstage is expected to launch by the end of the\u00a0year, possibly this fall, on mobile and desktop, initially with select popular YouTube accounts and with limited features.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

YouTube lijkt vooral te reageren op het populaire vloggen en het feit dat we steeds meer tijd besteden aan het video-platform. Populaire YouTube-accounts krijgen als eerste toegang tot Backstage en abonnees van videokanalen krijgen Backstage-posts automatisch in een feed\u00a0te zien. De functies moet het mogelijk maken om ook tekst en afbeeldingen te delen, dit naast het delen van de video’s.<\/p>\n

Populaire YouTubers – zie hieronder een screenshot van de top in Nederland –<\/span><\/a> gebruiken steeds vaker andere social media netwerken voor de interaction rondom hun YouTube-kanaal. Google wil de interactie op het platform nu vooral interactief en twee-weg maken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Backstage\u00a0marks a pivotal shift for YouTube, whose sole focus on video and unsuccessful Google+ integration<\/a> have left the door open for popular users to flock to\u00a0competing services like Twitter and Facebook in order to better communicate with fans. By introducing new ways for users to converse, Backstage\u00a0could reverse the\u00a0historically one-way communication between stars and their fans.\u00a0Video sharing\u00a0and watching will remain the primary function of YouTube, but Backstage may\u00a0help make YouTube a better place to talk about those videos, too.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
