WordPress is niet alleen een makkelijk aan te maken blog, maar ook een manier om jouw gehele sites aan te bouwen\u00a0of een CMS van te maken.\u00a0Van de 1 miljoen topsites(volgens Alexa) gebruikt 12,4% WordPress(als CMS). De eerste versie(0.7) kwam in 2003 uit.<\/strong> Eind 2010 kende &#8216;WP&#8217; meer dan 23 miljoen downloads van de toen versie 3. Daarbij zo een 12.000 plugins en meer dan 1200 themes die veelal via WordPress.org zijn te downloaden.
