The Guardian meldt dat per direct een speciale Europol ‘web unit’ op zoek gaat naar de duizenden social media accounts vol\u00a0IS-propaganda. De berichten zijn vaak gericht op jongeren en bedoeld\u00a0om jihadisten aan te trekken.<\/p>\n

“The police team will seek to track down the key figures behind the estimated 100,000 tweets a day pumped out from 45,000 to 50,000 accounts linked to the Islamist terror group, which controls parts of Iraq and Syria<\/a><\/span>.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Binnen twee uur blokkeren<\/span><\/h2>\n

Het streven is om ieder nieuw ontdekte account binnen twee uur te blokkeren.\u00a0Volgens de Brit, en topman Europol, Rob Wainwright een lastige opgave vanwege het dynamische karakter van sociale media:<\/p>\n

“Europol\u2019s director, Rob Wainwright, told the Guardian that the new internet referral unit would monitor social media output to identify people who might be vulnerable and those preying on them. He said: \u201cWho is it reaching out to young people, in particular, by social media, to get them to come, in the first place? It\u2019s very difficult because of the dynamic nature of social media.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
