The post will also provide support and periodic cover for the LIBER\u00a0Communications Officer. Experience with social media and in the organisation of workshops\u00a0is essential. Potential applicants must also be enthusiastic and interested in the range of\u00a0issues addressed in these projects e.g. open data, open access, research infrastructure,\u00a0and text and data mining.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><em>Main Purpose of the role:<\/em><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>To be responsible for undertaking the duties listed in the project descriptions of work\u00a0which have been assigned to LIBER in the context of European projects<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To organise a range of workshops and events in collaboration with project partners<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To provide support for the implementation of the overall communication strategy for\u00a0LIBER to LIBER&#8217;s Communications and Marketing Officer<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><em>Main responsibilities:<\/em><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>To implement the communication and engagement activities in European projects in\u00a0which LIBER is involved<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To work with other project partners and co-ordinate communication and\u00a0dissemination actions, events and workshops<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To promote projects and raise awareness through workshops, conferences, social\u00a0media and other tools<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To support the implementation of the communications strategy for LIBER<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To work on LIBER&#8217;s social media and web presence<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>To give support to the Executive Director of LIBER on request<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><em>Special Working Conditions<\/em><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Regular travelling<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Occasional out-of-hours working, including weekends, in association with\u00a0conferences, meetings and other events<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><em>Contact with project co-ordinators, project partners, libraries,\u00a0universities, EU institutions<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><em>Person specification:<\/em><\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>Essential Qualifications<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A first degree or equivalent qualification in a communications or a related discipline\u00a0Desirable Qualifications<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A higher degree, or its equivalent<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A project management qualification<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Essential skills<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Experience in a communications role<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Experience of organising workshops and conferences<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Experience in working in European Projects<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Experience of current communication tools, in particular social media and Web site\u00a0management<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Familiarity with\/interest in current issues in research libraries<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Well developed IT skills (including knowledge of MS Office packages, email and the\u00a0internet, social media)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Creative, flexible and with a demonstrable feeling for innovation<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Demonstrable team working skills<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Demonstrable interpersonal skills<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The ability to manage a variety of tasks, prioritise a heavy workload and meet targets<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A logical
