Mick Jagger stond aan het begin van een tour door Australie toen op 17 maart 2014 de wereld werd opgeschrikt door het nieuws dat zijn 49-jarige vriendin – en ex-fotomodel – L\u2019Wren Scott hangend aan een sjaal door een mode-collega werd gevonden. Jagger reageerde op 18 maart via zijn Facebook als volgt:<\/p>\n

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way.<\/em><\/p>\n

We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.<\/em><\/p>\n

She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.<\/em><\/p>\n

I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.<\/em><\/p>\n

I will never forget her,<\/em>

“Scott\u2014a former model who reinvented herself as a sought-after stylist and critically acclaimed designer\u2014was found dead in her New York apartment on Monday, in an apparent suicide. The same day, Mick Jagger, her partner of 13 years, landed in Perth with his band to kick off a tour of Australia and New Zealand. The group\u2019s first concert, scheduled for Wednesday, was canceled after Jagger learned about Scott\u2019s death. A spokesman for the singer said Monday that Jagger was \u201ccompletely shocked and devastated by the news.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
