Dat social media nog &#8216;maar&#8217; 5 jaar is natuurlijk niet helemaal waar. Onderstaand overzicht toont de jaren 2008 &#8211; 2013 als roerige jaren in &#8216;socialmedialand&#8217;. \u00a0In 2008 zou de eerste &#8216;social media&#8217; president zijn gekozen in de vorm van Obama.<\/strong> <!--more-->In 2009 werd Twitter opeens een sociaal netwerk om rekening mee te houden en in 2010 had Facebook meer bezoekers dat de site van Google. In de jaren negentig konden we al bloggen, chatten, hadden we fora en communities zoals DDS. Het aantal deelnemers aan de social wordt in 2013 &#8211; volgens dit overzicht &#8211; geschat op 1,7 miljard. Dit is een kwart van de totale wereldbevolking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De netwerken<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Facebook is met 1,2 miljard gebruikers het grootst. Dan met 300 miljoen Google Plus. LinkedIn is een goede derde met 260 miljoen gebruikers in de wereld. Twitter &#8216;maar&#8217; 225 miljoen atieve gebruikers. Kritische kanttekening hierbij is natuurlijk de vraag of dit echt actieve gebruikers zijn. Facebook zou &#8211; anno 2013 &#8211; al 100 miljard USD waard zijn.
