Mashable houdt per week de Twittertrends bij. Dit met een motivatie welk evenement dit was of waarom het überhaupt een trend zou zijn. Opmerkelijk in de week tot en met 9 juni 2011 was de wereldwijde nummer 1 van die week. Niet Biebier, niet de MTV Movie Awards niet E3 niet Apple maar voetbal. Op Twitter werd er in die week het meest gepraat over voetbalnieuws en dan onder andere het nieuws van Rooney maar ook Martin Jol.
